Director of CUA Press
The copyright law gives copyright owners the sole right to reproduce all or part of the work, distribute copies, prepare new (derivative) versions of the work, and perform and display the work publicly. Copyright protection governs "original works of authorship fixed in any tangible medium of expression." 17 U.S.C. § 102(a). The law protects unpublished as well as published material.
The Director of the CUA Press is responsible for ensuring compliance with copyright law in all publications of the CUA Press. The Director works with the authors to ensure that all necessary permissions have been obtained prior to publication. The Director also takes an active role, along with the authors, in protecting copyright for CUA Press Authors in the publications that have been published by the Press.
